Sue Lenier

lenier
Kazem Al Saher, the Iraqi singer, composer and poet, dubbed the 'Emperor of Arab Music' has commissioned Sue to write the screenplay/libretto for his musical film version of the Epic of Gilgamesh, the fifth king of Uruk.

Sue Lenier came to prominence in the 1980s while a student at Clare College, Cambridge, when her two collections of poems, RAIN FOLLOWING and SWANSONGS became instant global best-sellers. Since then Sue has written a number of plays, including A FOOL AND HIS HEART (BBC Radio3), KNIGHT FALL and EDEN SONG (Edinburgh Fringe). She has just completed DOCTOR'S ORDERS — a farce.

Curtis Hanson (LA CONFIDENTIAL and WONDER BOYS) is to produce THE POETESS, based on a factual episode in Sue Lenier's Cambridge University career.
