Robin Callender Smith has been a media lawyer for nearly 35 years working with the editors of the Daily Express, Sunday Express and Daily Star. He is an expert on the law of privacy and works as an Information Rights Judge.

He has published a textbook (Press Law: Sweet & Maxwell 1977), has written number of academic articles and writes as an occasional comment columnist for the Sunday Express.

He is now completing a PhD at London QMUL (his old university) on privacy issues and the Royal House of Windsor. The rest of his time is spent working as a Judge also dealing with crime, asylum and immigration, and mental health cases.
