Yvette Fielding

Yvette Fielding

Yvette Fielding first burst onto our screens in Seaview, at the age of 13, and so successful was her performance that the eagle-eyed producers of Blue Peter snapped her up. At only 17 years of age Yvette was the youngest ever presenter of 'Blue Peter'.

"WAS THAT A GHOST?" - A ghostly 'bible' for both believers and sceptics. Yvette Fielding and Dr. Ciarán O'Keeffe (from Living TV's smash hit series, Most Haunted) have joined together in writing this gripping and informative book that guides the reader through the paranormal world.  It goes back to the beginning of the first séances and reported apparitions through to their own investigations carried out in haunted locations exclusively for this book.  Ciarán and Yvette have chosen 5 cases, never examined before, and endeavour to spend time in these exclusive haunted locations.  These case files take the reader from an impartial observer to first-hand participant. With the increase in the number of amateur groups investigating alleged haunted locations, with the prevalence of paranormal television shows whose focus is on capturing the elusive apparition, a discussion of what constitutes the evidence is necessary, and compelling.  The benefit of an open discussion from two different viewpoints is obvious.  Ciarán and Yvette, two authors who have trodden their paths of curiosity about the questions, here discuss the answers they have discovered... Yvette and Ciarán urge that 'those of a nervous disposition should NOT read this after dark'!

She went on to win the SOS Award for the Most Popular Woman on Television, competing with Cilla Black, Victoria Wood and Kylie Minogue.

As Yvette's popularity grew, so did her work load, presenting shows such as What's up Doc?, Practical Parenting, Looking Good, Heaven and Earth, BBC's flagship show City Hospital, Baby Baby, Girls Talk, Karaoke Challenge, and Well Being to name a few.

She also dabbled in DIY shows when she hosted Granada's studio-based Simply DIY and Meridian's A Weekend's Work, the programme that re-furbished volunteers' homes in a weekend. She also presented Under Offer a gameshow where celebrities guessed the value of unusual properties, which is currently being shown on ITV.

And if this isn't enough, she managed to fit in copious amounts of corporate work and the weekend's continuity for Challenge TV. So diverse has Yvette's career been that she can turn her hand to anything as Most Haunted proves.

Amid all this work Yvette took time out after her marriage to Karl and to look after her two children William and Mary.

Not only has Yvette excelled in her career as a presenter, she is also training towards a Black Belt in Karate. To which her instructor says, 'Never have I taught such a determined, quick thinking, gutsy person'.

Being in television most of her life, she put her experience into starting a production company with her husband Karl, a cameraman and producer. Antix Productions was born and Most Haunted the first commission. Antix Productions are now currently in talks about a new adventure gameshow, which is the first of its kind, and shooting a pilot for a new documentary series in the USA. They are also in talks with an American production company about a joint venture.

Producers who have recently worked with her say Yvette is the most talented presenter they have ever employed! Yvette is an excellent interviewer with journalistic capabilities. She is wonderful with the public who adore her and is also a force to be reckoned with in light entertainment.

Hodder Headline have acquired the publishing rights for Yvette and Ciarán's new ghost books.
